Esteemed Past Masters, dear Brethren, and beloved family, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for gracing the 104th Installation of Officers with your presence. Your unwavering support for Golden Rule Lodge No. 479 officers has touched the very essence of our being, and we thank you from the depths of our hearts.
As we set our sights on February, the season of love and affection, memories of Valentine's Day come flooding back. The aroma of sumptuous chocolates, the vibrant hues of blossoming flowers, and the tender messages of Valentine's Day Cards all stir the heart. These timeless tokens of love and adoration remind us of the everlasting power of human connection.
Within the halls of masonry, the bond of brotherhood burns like an eternal flame, illuminating our every moment, day and night. The tenets of our craft, brotherly love, relief, and truth, define us as masons, shaping us into beacons of inspiration for those around us. Our connection, our unity, touches the hearts of those outside our sacred order, igniting within them the spark of desire to join masonry. My dear brothers, let us steadfastly tread the path of virtuousness, for we are the harbingers of change in our world.
As our venerable Brother Benjamin Franklin once proclaimed, “Masonic labor is purely a labor of love. He who seeks to draw Masonic wages in gold and silver will be disappointed. The wages of a Mason are in the dealings with one another; sympathy begets sympathy, kindness begets kindness, helpfulness begets helpfulness, and these are the wages of a Mason.”
By following the footsteps of luminaries like Brother Franklin, we can change the world. Let us kindle the light of brotherhood within us, until every day is a celebration of love, like the radiant glow of Valentine's Day.
